Today, we will set off from Valbona on foot toward another mountain village called Theth, over the popular Valbona Pass trail.
The Valbona Pass has connected the valleys of Theth and Valbona for centuries. It can only be accessed on foot and reaches 1795m at its peak. The 15 km+ hike will take about 6 hours, and we will climb approx 1000m in elevation. This is our most active day of the tour and does require a reasonable fitness level.
The alpine meadows, towering peaks, and rocky slopes make for a pretty spectacular view, and the challenge of the climb is well worth it.
We will receive a packed lunch from our homestay; however, there are often a couple of stops along the way where smaller shops have set up to sell cold drinks, byrek, or flija (traditional food made with layers of dough).
If you'd prefer for us to arrange transport for your luggage, this can be done at an additional cost. Otherwise, we will be hiking with our backpacks - so pack light 🙂
