Will has been on the road since the age of nineteen, and in the two decades since, he’s travelled to over a hundred countries, exploring far flung lands and mystery strewn corners of the globe. Known as the OG Broke Backpacker, he’s been documenting his adventures for nearly twenty years and leading small groups into spectacular corners of the world since 2011.
A passionate planner and self-confessed map nerd, Will crafts itineraries that delight, enthuse, and surprise. As our logistics superhero, he takes pride in handling any twists and turns that may arise, so that all guests have to do is show up and let the adventure do the rest.
He believes travel is the ultimate tool for personal growth, and that time away from devices, whether that’s deep in the mountains or beneath the waves, is essential to living well. It’s a philosophy he’s built his whole life around, not just his work.
Based in Bali, Will comes from an entrepreneurial background as the founder of Tribal Hostel and Ahoy Villa, as well as dog-dad to three fluffpups.
Audy has spent her whole life building herself around the ocean. A scuba instructor, master freediver, and lifelong marine wildlife obsessive, she’s dived with manta rays in Indonesia, worked in ocean conservation in Bali, and sung with whales in French Polynesia. For Audy, the sea isn’t a backdrop, it’s home: the place that teaches her, heals her, and reflects her back to herself.
Elsewheria exists because Audy couldn’t keep the ocean’s best moments to herself. She wanted to guide others into the same encounters that shaped her, the kind of moments that stay with you long after you’re back on dry land. The Sea of Cortez is especially personal to her, deeply rooted in Mexico, she leads our Baja expeditions with the kind of infectious enthusiasm that only comes from doing exactly what you were born to do.
Off duty, she’s journaling in the jungle, dancing barefoot, or lost in a fantasy novel at some cozy, far-flung café. Wherever she lands, she brings the same quiet obsession with the water, always looking for the next place to dive in, above the surface or below it.
Dani has been part of Elsewheria since day one, the quiet force behind the scenes who helped build this whole thing from the ground up. Long before there were guests to guide or trips to run, there was Dani, figuring out the logistics, the relationships, the hundred small details that make small group travel actually work.
Raised in New Zealand with saltwater in her blood, she traded a corporate career at 25 for a one-way ticket to see the world and never looked back. These days she’s an advanced freediver with a deep love for whales, leading expeditions and guiding small groups into the kind of encounters that stay with you forever.
Off the water, Dani is a connector by nature: her happy place is among good food, a yoga mat, and a table full of people she just met an hour ago. For her, a good trip isn’t just about where you go, it’s who you become along the way.
Margeaux grew up in the Midwest, about as far from saltwater as North America allows, and has spent every year since heading further out to sea. The more remote the island, the happier she is.
She spent years running a field camp on Johnston Atoll, a wildlife refuge 800 miles southwest of Hawaii with no permanent population, counting seabird colonies and pulling invasive ants out of coral rubble by hand. More recently she worked as a biologist and divemaster in Indonesia, teaching coral restoration and scientific diving techniques. She has a Master’s in Marine Science, though most of what she knows came from spending every moment possible in the water.
A trained freediver, Margeaux leads Elsewheria expeditions in Tonga and Baja California, and tells guests what they are looking at before it swims off. On dry land she hikes and teaches yoga, but she is happiest with a field guide in her hand and something unidentified in front of her.
Andy, Aud’s father and long-term resident of Baja knows these dusty roads like the back of his oil-streaked hands. A special kind of genius, Andy is adept at fixing, mending and attaching things to our expedition vehicle and whilst we rarely have vehicle related problems, we’re glad to have him with us.
Cursed with a goofy laugh, Andy more than makes up for it with his guitar playing which, if we’re lucky, shall make an appearance over one fire-lit, star studded, night.
Norma, a professional cook and Audy’s Mexican momma, is the heart of our Baja expeditions and a constant source of good vibes, smiles and delicious food. Norma comes from a long tradition of secret home cooked recipes using herbs, spices and Mexican magic.
All her ingredients are lovingly sourced and she often has us zipping around to specific bakeries and in search of the perfect cheese or healthy proteins with which to paint her culinary masterpiece.
Erika is an oceanographer with a master’s degree in Marine Ecology, devoted to the conservation of sea turtles and the sustainable management of marine natural resources. For over 15 years, she has worked hand in hand with coastal communities, protecting marine ecosystems while supporting the well-being of the people who depend on them.
Her journey has also taken her through a decade in nature tourism, where she had the privilege of guiding people from around the world to experience the ocean not just as a place, but as a living, breathing system we are all part of.
Today, her work is centred on scientific and immersive tourism, creating experiences that inspire awareness, connection, and responsibility. She is passionate about fostering a regenerative approach that honours marine life and recognises its essential role in sustaining our planet and our future.
With 14 years of army service, including Commando and Parachute qualifications, Max has spent the past two years riding a Triumph Scrambler 1200 around the world.
Since departing Europe in 2024, he has covered more than 80,000 km across 30+ countries spanning Europe, Central Asia, the Himalayas, Southeast Asia, North America, and Mexico. Highlights include crossing the Pamir Highway, travelling through Afghanistan and Pakistan, climbing Lobuche East (6,119m), and navigating some of the most remote regions of the world by motorcycle.
Pakistan is one of Max’s favourite countries. Alongside adventure travel, Max works in security risk management, expedition leadership, and wilderness travel, combining operational planning experience with a passion for exploration and storytelling.
